The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, PPWR (EU 2025/40 ) introduces new requirements aimed at reducing packaging waste, increasing recycling and supporting a circular economy. The regulation applies to packaging across all sectors and will influence businesses throughout the value chain. At Moelven, we are committed to ensuring that the packaging used for our products meets evolving regulatory requirements while continuing to protect products during storage, handling, and transport. PPWR entered into force on 11 February 2025 and will generally apply across the EU from 12 August 2026. Some requirements will be introduced gradually over the following years, including harmonised labelling, recyclability performance criteria, minimum recycled-content requirements for certain packaging types, and additional circularity measures.
Although Moelven does not produce packaging as a standalone product, we place packaged products carrying the Moelven brand on the market . We therefore play an important role in the packaging value chain as a manufacturer.
We work closely with specialised packaging producers to ensure that relevant packaging information and documentation are available and that applicable PPWR requirements are addressed throughout the supply chain.
