Moelven with greatest investment of all time

Moelven will modernise and develop capacity at Moelven Edanesågen AB and Moelven Valåsen AB. Overall, the group will invest more than SEK 600 million in the two sawmills in the years to come.

Record start of the year for Moelven

Moelven has never seen a better first quarter than in 2021. In the course of the first three months of the year, Moelven saw sales of NOK 3,182 million and an operating profit of NOK 290 million.

Moelven reported one of its strongest results

The result in the year where everything was different was one of the strongest for Moelven of all time. The group reported an operating profit of NOK 662.2 million – an increase of almost NOK 330 million compared to the previous year.

Fatal accident casts gloom over half-year results

13 August was one of the darkest days of Moelven’s history. That day an employee lost his life in a fall accident at Moelven Edanesågen AB in Sweden. “We are unable to celebrate a good half-year result as we have just had a fatal accident,” says CEO Morten Kristiansen of Moelven Industrier ASA.

Moelven posted a NOK 70 million profit on operations during the first quarter

Moelven started the year on a positive note, and the coronavirus pandemic has not yet significantly impacted the group’s operations. However, the pandemic makes it almost impossible to predict the future.

Moelven’s earnings were NOK 335 million in 2019

Last year was characterised by significant fluctuations for Moelven. This is evident from the preliminary operating result for the group. Moelven had sales of NOK 10,297.5 million in 2019, and delivered a operating result of NOK 335.4 million.

Moelven sees opportunities in a more demanding market

Moelven Industrier ASA achieved operating revenues of NOK 43.6 million in the third quarter. This is a decrease of NOK 86.0 million compared to the same period of 2018.

Moelven earned more than NOK 300 million in the first six months

Moelven Industrier ASA has a strong first six months behind it, with operating income of NOK 309.1 million. “There is a lot to suggest that the remainder of the year may be more unpredictable,” says CEO Morten Kristiansen.

International demand for wood products is once again contributing to a strong quarterly result for Moelven. Operating income for the year’s three first months was NOK 140.9 million.
