At Moelven, there is one thing that always comes before everything else: All our employees, contractors and visitors must come Home Safe – every day.
This is our highest priority and our clearest principle. No task, no deadline, and no goal are more important than people’s safety and health. We operate in an industry where risks are real, which makes our responsibility even greater. Zero injuries aren’t just a target for us; it’s something we truly believe in. We know accidents can be prevented.
HSSE is not a project. It is a long-term responsibility, culture, and continuous journey of improvement. We will never compromise on people’s safety and health, and we will never stop developing.
We are Moelven - You make the difference!
Safety is not found in a rulebook. It lives in people’s behavior, attitudes, and sense of responsibility. That is why we work systematically, risk-based and long-term to continuously strengthen our safety culture:
• Everyone receives the necessary and up-to-date HSSE training
• Everyone is introduced to our safety rules – employees, contractors and visitors
• Everyone is expected to contribute to a working environment characterized by care, responsibility and the courage to speak up
We invest in competence, presence, dialogue, technical safeguards, fire prevention, and preparedness, but above all in people. Because it is our employees’ knowledge, awareness and engagement that make the greatest difference.
A safe workplace requires both structure and continuity. That is why our HSSE work is based on continuous reporting, risk assessments, analyses, safety rounds, emergency preparedness exercises, internal audits, and active knowledge sharing between units. Together, this provides a clear picture of the work environment and enables us to develop routines and measures in a systematic and predictable way. By following up on every case, we ensure that new insights are translated into practical improvements.
A good work environment is built on safety, variety, collaboration, and opportunities for development. That is why we work continuously with preventive work environment measures, follow-up on sickness absence, health-promoting initiatives, and training in both physical and mental health. We also develop our leadership and provide tools and support for managers and employees to strengthen the work environment in everyday work. When employees feel well, feel safe, and experience involvement, a culture of high attendance, job satisfaction, and motivation is created, something that is crucial for both safety and performance.
Moelven’s safety work is continuously evolving, and to clarify our overall responsibility we use the term HSSE: Health, Safety, Security & Environment. This means that areas such as fire protection, industrial protection, external environment, security and preparedness are natural parts of our overall safety efforts.
In industry, a distinction is made between safety (protection of people) and security (protection of assets and facilities). HSSE is therefore a more precise and comprehensive term that reflects the requirements and realities of our operations.
We will continue to use HSE in our day-to-day work, but formally Moelven applies HSSE to strengthen clarity, responsibility and safety across the entire Moelven Group.
