The EUDR is an EU regulation that aims to reduce global deforestation and forest degradation. The regulation requires that certain raw materials and products that are often linked to deforestation must fulfil specific requirements for traceability and due diligence processes in order to be traded within the EU or exported from the EU. Raw materials covered by the EUDR are soya, oil palm, coffee, cocoa, rubber, cattle (meat) and wood.
Moelven is committed to complying with the EU Deforestation Regulation 2023/1115 (EUDR), which comes into effect on 30 December 2025. To ensure that goods produced before the end of 2025 can be traded within the EU after 30 December 2025, it will be necessary to begin exchanging EUDR reference information well before the year-end.
Moelven requires all suppliers of product groups subject to the EUDR to:
Moelven will ensure that the necessary EUDR reference and documentation – at least at delivery note level – accompanies all deliveries of EUDR-relevant products to our customers.
Moelven, together with several other players in the forestry and wood industry, is in the process of developing an IT solution for sharing EUDR information digitally. The work is proceeding according to the established project plan. The first version of the system will be completed in autumn 2025. The technical details required to start using the system will be published as soon as they are ready.
